Reigning for the Westside of Chicago, 1 A.M. from Saleem Music Group (SMG) steps out for his untitled solo project. After being featured on SMG Squad’s debut album “Training Day,”1 A.M. is ready to release his new video for his single “4 tha love”.
“4 tha love” creates a calm vibe leaving you reminiscent on how life use to be. Taking rap back to its roots “4 tha love” gives you that classic old school beat and lyrical storytelling flow about the daily struggles in the City of Chicago. This video is simple but speaks volume while painting the picture of his words in its simplest and rawest form.
Cruising around the streets of Chicago, 1 A.M. begins to give insight on life as he knows it. Lyrics such as “Life right now through these eyes is what I’m given you/the streets don’t change homie/only the n***as do/the murder rate fluctuate/n***as ‘bout their paper right? /we duck taping kids just to get their paper right,” is not only an example of his poetic abilities but it shows the structure in his story telling, which makes his flow more relatable and engaging.
Michael Chisom also known as 1.A.M has more than a story to tell. In the summer of 1996 he was involved in an accident where his right was amputated. Instead of letting his passion for music fade he used it as a form of self-expression and incorporated poetry. Being the profound storyteller that he is this is not the last time that we’ll hear from 1.A.M.
