A Tribute To Prince: Grammys 2020
According to rollingstone.com, a tribute to the late and great Prince will be given on January 28th, two days after the 2020 Grammys and aired on television sometime during the year. Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam, Prince's lifelong colleagues and Prince's drummer, Sheila E. will perform the duties of musical director. Some artists that are set to perform include John Legend, Alicia Keys, Usher, and the Foo Fighters. However, it can't be a Prince tribute without original cool cats from back in the day. Set to perform among a host of other talented musicians are Morris Day and The Time, Prince's old band The Revolution, and even Sheila E. has her own set for the night. Rollingstone.com quotes Sheila E. as saying " I was very honored to be able to do this for so many reasons, but to be able to help celebrate the life of a dear friend and be a part of this and be musical director is awesome."
Prince brought us timeless classics like "Purple Rain", "America", and "I Would Die 4 U" just to name a few. Some who are maybe too young to remember Prince may remember the parodies of Prince by actor/comedian Dave Chappelle on the hit comedy sketch show, "Chappelle's Show". Check out the video clip below:
If you're unfamiliar with who Prince is, this tribute will shed light on whom they call "The Purple One". You'll get a taste of the music he made and the joy and happiness he brought to his fans.
