Jazmine C. Presents Throwback Thursday: Kanye West "Through the Wire"
To Kayne West to Yeezus, the most popular rap artist now made a name for himself to be the metaphoric lyrical genius. Mr. West raised in Chicago as he gained the opportunity to produce hit records for Jay z, Beanie Sigel and more. His hit song Through the Wire that sparked a lot of attention as he rapped with a metal wire in his mouth due to a car accident. The video hit home with some Chicago residents as they see some familiar spots like Leon’s rib joint. The song was released in 2004 on his first album The College Drop Out. He sampled the “Queen of Funk,” and Chicago’s on Chaka Khan 1984 song Through the Fire. I consider this song a real Throw Back Thursday, since it reminds me back in 2008 Kayne West performed Through the Wire at the high school I attended, Hirsh. This particular K. West record brings back great memories.
