Sprite launches "Obey Your Verse" Campaign
In Sprite’s new “Obey Your Verse” campaign, the Coca-Cola bottling company will be featuring classic lyrics from some of Hip Hop's’ famous rappers. Sprite continues to recognize the power and influence of hip hop on mainstream America. Grant Hill and Kobe Bryant have had endorsements with the company in the past. The Cleveland Cavalier’s Lebron James and Canadian born rapper Drake have been the most recent superstars to shine in commercials for lemon-lime soft drinks. The cans, that are expected to hit the stores this summer will display the following verses (as well as a few more): Nas-’The World Is Yours’, Rakim-’Thinking of A Master Plan’, Notorious B.I.G.- ‘Lyrically, I’m Supposed to Represent’, and Drake-’Started From the Bottom’. This will be Coca-Cola’s inaugural campaign for the hip hop lyrics, and it hopes it will be just as successful as its decision to put names on their Coke cans - which sparked an increase in the company’s sales.
