Flashback Friday "No Time" Lil Kim
We had already been introduced to Lil Kim in 1994 as the “only female in my crew” of Junior M.A.F.I.A when their debut album “Conspiracy” was released. The group enjoyed great success with their single “Player’s Anthem.” By 1997 they were no more, mostly due to the death of the Notorious B.I.G. But not before Lil’ Kim released her solo album with the debut hit “No Time” featuring Sean “Puffy” Combs -later changing his name to P.Diddy. “No Time” which sampled both Vicki Anderson’s “Message From the Soul Sisters” went straight to the top of the charts. The video was shot in the World Trade Center and displays the Queen Bee with an Amex, furs, jewels and men. “No Time” is considered to have launched Kimberly Jones’ career. She would go on to release a total of four solo albums.
“I got no time for fake ones. Just sip some Cristal with these real ones. From East to West Coast spread love, son. And while you keep talking sh*t we count bank funds." (Puffy)
