A Talented Prince Among Men
Yes. This man has on a frilly blouse and boots with heels. He was definitely unique and had an unapologetic style that was all his own. He had freshly applied mascara and even fresher perfectly done curls. Who was this short fellow in purple? He immediately wowed us with his guitar and soon we all looked forward to his custom costumes - looks that only he could pull off. This little man could make his big voice dip down so low and then take it up to a screaming high pitch in the same verse. He was unsurpassed talent wise. He could play most any instrument and recorded many of his albums all on his own. He was the producer, arranger, composer and of course, singer on most of his songs. He appealed to the rockers as well as the r&b crowd, the pop and funk culture. This man always seen with his guitar, was also a brilliant song writer, responsible for hits such as "I Feel For You" by Chaka Khan and "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O'Connor.
He lived his life and played his music just as he wanted to. He never let what people though might not be right or is not acceptable or what looks right affect him. He knew when he put on his tight pants and his blouse and high heels that there may be some haters ( of course) but that didn't phase him in the least. He played his guitar and performed his dances and sang his songs. He created and gave him self to his music and his profession, and he did it like no one has ever done and no one will ever do again. With an unmatched style of dress and unparalleled gift as a musician, he was truly a Prince who had the courage and creativity to rule his kingdom and do things the way he wanted them done.
