Lloyd Ft. 2 Chainz "Tru" Remix
Lloyd’s personal comeback single “Tru,” which he says he didn’t think he would release, gets a lift from rapper 2 Chainz. On the remix, the Atlanta MC offers up questions of concerns before highlighting his early struggles.
“Tru” is a re-introduction from Lloyd, a musical letter to fans to catch up on what he’s been up to during his hiatus.
“Hey world, I know it’s been awhile / thought I’d come around and let you know what’s up now,” Lloyd sings on the first verse. He gets candid, talking about real life occurrences that put his career on hold. He lays it all out on the table: “Came home helped my sister raise a child / Kinda hurt me cause I could have had my own now / Lost my baby damn it’s really hitting home now,” he sings on the second verse.
“I was just pure therapy, It was only for me,” Lloyd said about the independently released record. “I remember the first few times people would listen to it, I would leave the studio. I could never look at people while they were listening to it.”
Late last month, the Atlanta crooner announced the title of his upcoming project. “My new album will be titled #OutMyWindow and i am almost ready to release it,” Lloyd revealed via Twitter.
