Solange's "Cranes in the Sky" Soars
We have all been there- when things seem to be going badly, we try our best to live with it any way we know how. Solange perfectly captures the mood and the words of attempting to go on, in difficult situations. We work more, we drink more, we party more. We socialize less, we wear less, we care less. We shop, we bar hop, we sex and we text- all in hopes of making the pain go away. The soothing video is filled with beautiful black women striking equally beautiful poses in various locations. There is noticeably constant movement and touching by Solange and the women, as if they rely on each other and the gorgeous scenery around them for their strength to go on. With help from Raphael Saadiq as co-producer and on bass, this one off of her album A Seat at the Table, has everyone talking. This busy wife, mother, model, song writer and producer has shown her audience that this long awaited project, was truly worth the wait.
"I tried to drink it away. I tried to put one in the air. I tried to dance it away. I tried to change it with my hair."
