Pay Attention Artists: Apple Announces the End of iTunes!
When iTunes was first created it was designed with music creators in mind. The mission was simple: Rip, Mix, and Burn songs on your Mac computer. On Monday, Apple’s Craig Federighi announces the official end of iTunes after 18 years and introduces a new solution, courtesy of the MacOS update: MacOS Catalina.

Apple reports that the changes will take place when the MacOS Catalina operating system debuts in the fall. The initial reaction to the news alarmed users who became immediately concerned with the fate of their iTunes content. Many users wondered if any and all content on the app would disappear into the digital stratosphere. Apple saw this coming so they immediately confirmed to CNBC Make It that when users update their software, music in their library will automatically transfer to the Apple Music app. All Mac users will be able to enter the iTunes Music Store in the Music app.
