Will Jay-Z Bring Social Justice To The NFL?
Hip Hop's first billionare, Jay-Z, is said to become part owner of NFL franchise. However, everyone is not here for it.
After hearing the news of the new partnership, close friends of Colin Kaepernick call this partnership “despicable.”
“Jay-Z claimed to be a supporter of Colin, he wore his Jersey, he told people not to perform at the Super Bowl because of the treatment the NFL did to Colin, and now he’s going to be a part-owner,” said Reid.
Nessa Diab, TV host and longtime girlfriend of Kaepernick, released comments of pure anger towards the partenership. “I don’t mind you doing a business deal — but I do mind you wrapping it in social justice when you’re working with an organization that denies someone an opportunity," she says. Some believe that Diab is just salty that Jay didn't include Colin in the partnership.
"I think we've passed kneeling. I think it's time to go into our actionable items," Jay-Z says. He says that he is not interested on how things look on the outside. “The kneeling was not about a job, it was about injustice,” he added.
This new partnership is an opportunity for change. The question is, will Jay-Z make the change or choose to collect his coins?
