Antonio Brown Released From New England Following His "Hot Boy Summer"
Can we say the AB now stands for absent? Antonio Brown, who was traded to the Oakland Raiders in March after an eight year plus stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers, now has no NFL team to call home at the moment. According to ESPN.com, on Sept. 7, Brown took to his Instagram asking for the Raiders to release him after they voided his almost 30 million dollar contract. His wish was granted and not long after, Brown was picked up by the New England Patriots. On Sept. 9, Brown signs a one year deal with the Patriots.
As luck would have it, a civil suit was filed against Brown by his former trainer, Britney Taylor. Brown is accused of sexual assaults against Taylor. He also faces another sexual allegation charge by a woman who worked in Brown's Pennsylvania home 2017. Antonio has since lost several endorsements including Nike and helmet company Xenith.
Text messages have since surfaced, creating more evidence against Brown. After two weeks, New England releases Antonio Brown. As quoted by a Patriots spokesperson via ESPN.com, "We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time."
There's so many questions people are seeking answers to. Will Antonio be found guilty of these charges? Will another team pick Brown up? We'll just have to wait and see.
