Juice WRLD Being Sued By Yellowcard, Seeking 15 Million Dollars
The American rock group Yellowcard is apparently suing rapper Juice WRLD for his 2018 song "Lucid Dreams" because they say he plagiarized their song, "Holly Wood Died," which came out on their "Lights and Sound" album in 2006.
The complaint was filed in California on October 21 and pretty much states that elements of "Holly Wood Died" was used in "Lucid Dreams" by Juice WRLD and his associates without the permission of the band.
According to rocksoundtv.com, Yellowcard are suing for damages in excess of $15 million and a "running royalty and/or ownership share" on future exploitations of 'Lucid Dreams', alternatively they're seeking statutory damages "for each act of copyright infringement" and for Juice WRLD to be "permanently enjoined" from exploiting 'Lucid Dreams' in the future.
Basically, Juice WRLD came up and made a grip with his hit "Lucid Dreams" and Yellowcard pretty much wants equal profits off of everything that Juice WRLD has and will have that has to do with "Lucid Dreams."
That's bananas!!!
