Tank "You Don't Know" ft Wale
In 2007, Sex, Pain and Love took home the Grammy for Best R&B album and Tank is hoping its sequel can do the same. SPL2 is due out this friday and he has released one of its hot songs already. “You Don’t Know”, which features his fellow labelmate Wale, heavily samples the 1983 love ballad by Patti Labelle. This a true R&B smooth jam that is signature Tank.
Tank proclaims “you don’t know, you don’t know, you don’t know” and “if only you knew... how much I do... love you”- many times in a falsetto-throughout and Wale gets his grown man rap on once again-just as he did in “The Matrimony.”
He says “I don’t play with toys. She told me to build her up...I said lego.”
The album, which also features Chris Brown, is Tank’s seventh as a solo artist. He also released an album with the group TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine, Tank) in 2013.
